The company was founded in July 2004 by a small group of friends, drawn together by a mutual love and concern for their pets and included Inna Shekhtman, Louise Bryce, Linda Edwards, Kevin Plimbley, Orene Webster, and Kris Morrow (the latter three moved on to pursue other endeavors after the first year). It began operations in a small 600 sq. ft. warehouse on Mitchell Island, BC. The first few years were challenging, as we struggled to find the right suppliers, formulas, and packaging. By focusing on quality products, quality manufacturing practices and excellent customer service, we continued to grow and expand, establishing ourselves as a leader in the raw pet food industry.
Today, Red Dog Blue Kat raw pet food is produced in a state of the art, 7200 sq. ft. food manufacturing facility that rivals many of the food producers creating products for human consumption. We currently have 10 employees and Red Dog Blue Kat pet food can be found in quality pet stores and through holistically minded veterinarians in British Columbia, Alberta, Quebec and Saskatchewan. Inna continues to manage the daily operations of the company, while Linda and Louise provide product development support.
